The Petzl Glacier Axe is a lightweight axe for exploring glaciers. Ice is pretty slippery and dangerous, so be sure to not only bring your axe, but know how to use it. The aluminum shaft drops weight while the ridged handle helps with grip. The pick and spike are steel for solid anchoring in hard ice and snow.
